Happy Birthday Finny!

Time flies! A year ago today, Finn came home from the hospital. And today, we celebrated his birthday with friends and family. It was a great day. It is hard to believe a year has passed. Our little Finn is now a year old! The kids colored a picture for him, we ate, had cake and even the adults got to play a game. It's been a long day but we all went to bed thankful for all being able to celebrate Finn's 1st birthday happy and healthy!

The ending to another season....

Wow! Kelly is slacking on the blog! I said I would update more often and I am falling short! It's been quite busy! The winter is coming to and end. It was a busy one! Kelly's work had a decent year considering the economy, people still came out to ski and ride, and they even got some of that western travelers who stayed local. Dru's work busy season is starting to ramp up! So the parenting tables will turn for the next couple of months. Kelly is looking forward to a relaxing summer and Dru is looking forward to being active again. Bella got out 2 times this year to ski, far not as much as we would have wanted. Finn is turning one! A whole year on the planet. We are all looking forward to warm and sunny weather!

A Bad Hair Day....

So that is what Bella told me for a couple of days leading up to her taking a pair of safety scissors to her hair. I knew it was coming, she's at that age. I even hid all the scissors in the house, so I thought. Apparently, I forgot the kids scissors in her craft table. Apparently she didn't think it was short enough (I just cut her hair the other day). Almost a mullet on one side! We are still not sure if she did it at night or early in the morning.

Time for the Ball.......

Our first exciting adventure of the year was a breakfast with the Disney Princesses. We headed out to NJ Children's Museum where we had breakfast with the 6 princesses, did a craft, took pictures and full run of the museum. We had a great day and Bella was just in complete heaven with her favorite princesses! She even got speachless and shy when they first came up to her. Bella even dressed up as her favorite princess - Sleeping Beauty. Here are some pictures from the day. Finn got to get in and enjoy the fun too!

Happy New Year

Wow! Time flies! We really have let time get away from us and haven't been the best about posting on the blog. So here's to 2009 and determination to blog more! So we finished out the year with friends and family for the holidays. We had a great time meeting Jackie's family on Christmas eve, where Finn fell asleep under the coffee table, by the tree and Bella danced away in a Princess glitter skirt.

Santa was good to both Bella and Finn. Bella got the microphone and bike she asked for and Finn got enough lights and sound toys to keep him busy! We headed to Marty and Maria's for Christmas day. Bella had a great time playing with Grace and Finn and Juliet were amazed with Elmo.

Then we headed on Saturday to Linda and J's for another family Christmas. Bella had fun opening more presents and visiting with family.

Then the kids got to have breakfast with Alicia before a day at the mall with Kelly while Dru enjoyed going to a Jets game Marty.

We wish everyone a happy and healthy 2009! Talk to you soon!

Halloween 2008

Halloween is such a fun time. First we carved our pumpkins on Thursday night. Bella had fun scooping out the seeds while Daddy carved the faces. Finn was just in awe as he watched his Big Sister. On Halloween night, we set out: Bella as Snow White, Finn as a Dragon, Daddy as Elvis and Mommy with a witches hat and her work nametag still on, how silly. Finn even had the sound effects of a Dragon to go with his costume. We hit the streets in search of some ghoulish fun. We stopped at all the neighbors houses, Bella went right up to the door, even inviting herself in some. Bella could have kept going all night but Finn was getting tired and by the time we got home Bella and Finn's buckets were full of candy and it was time for bed!

Pumpkin Picking 2008

This weekend, every year, marks the begining of fall for the Brooks Family. We head out early to the local farm for a fun day. We first started with Bella getting her face painted. She got a pink pumpkin and butterfly on her cheeks, it was then onto the amusement rides! Bella loves the Merry Go Round so mommy and Bella went round and round while Finn, Daddy and Bonnie watched. Bella and Finn got to play in a sandbox full of corn kernels! It was lots of fun. Then we went through the hay maze and watched the pigs eat. Then Bella got to go on her first pony ride! We took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch where Bella searched high and low, all throughout the pumpkin field to find the perfect pumpkin. Finn napped in the shade with Bonnie. We had a nice picnic lunch and then headed home. played in a sandbox full of corn kernels! That was fun! The weather was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky! When we got home we decorated the house for Halloween and raked up a pile of leaves so Bella could jump in.
